Conference 7: Ukraine’s Civilian Security Sector: Reforms’ Progress and Challenges
In the framework of the ‘Ukraine – Security Governance Best Practice and Monitoring Platforms’ project, the seventh conference will take place in Kiev between 29 and 30 March. This conference will address Ukraine’s Civilian Security Sector: Reforms’ Progress and Challenges.
The Civilian Security Sector in Ukraine embraces a wide range of the national non-military structures including but not limited to law-enforcement and rule of law agencies. Key roles in civil security issues belong to Parliament, civil society and Media, which support and control activities of the Civilian Security Sector.
The objectives of this event are to identify current reform priorities and challenges; pinpoint weaknesses in oversight structures and relevant solutions; determine relevant lessons learned and best practices; and define capacity development needs.
